Privacy & cookie policy
This policy explains what Security Guru does with the information you give us through this website.
What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form we collect your name, postcode, property type, main security concern, preferred reply method, an email address or mobile number, and any details you choose to add. We also record the page you submitted from, the referring website and any campaign parameters in the link you arrived on.
Why we use it
Solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare a recommendation and quotation, and arrange a survey or installation if you ask us to. We do not sell or share your details with third parties for marketing, and we do not make unsolicited sales calls.
Where it goes
Enquiries are stored in our hosted database and emailed to our monitored business inbox over an encrypted connection. Emails are sent from no-reply@securityguru.co.uk, which is an unmonitored sending address — please reply to the message we send you rather than to that address.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained for up to 24 months so we can answer follow-up questions, then deleted. Where work is carried out, records are kept for as long as required for accounting and warranty purposes.
Cookies and tracking
This site currently uses essential storage only. Nothing is loaded for analytics, advertising or profiling, so there is no cookie banner to accept or decline. We store a small amount of data in your browser purely to make the site function — for example remembering which reply method you chose so the confirmation page can show it. If we add analytics in future, this policy will be updated and consent will be requested before anything non-essential loads.
CCTV and data protection
If a system we install captures footage beyond your own boundary, you become the data controller for that footage under UK data protection law. We advise on privacy masking, signage and sensible retention settings as part of every installation. That is practical guidance to help you get it right — it is not a guarantee of legal compliance, and the responsibility remains yours.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send us a request using the enquiry form and we'll action it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
